Lillian is 3, and this was her first year trick or treating. Halloween 2007 she was 2 months old, so there was no going out for us. 2008, I was 8 months pregnant with Shepherd, so no going out. Last year, it was too cold. But this year, we finally went. She’s old enough to understand it a little and have a lot of fun with it, and Shep is old enough to sit in his stroller and say “eee” while the older kids say, “Trick or Treat!!”

She decided to be Princess Tiana, and Shepherd, I decided, was to be Conan O’Brien.

He was actually going to be ‘Conando’ but he woke up a little warm, so I decided the suit I was going to put him in would be too toasty for him. Not to mention all of the snot that would have nestled into his mustache…

Joining us was my friend Briana, her daughter Melodie, who is 10 days younger than Lillian, Briana’s sister Dacia and her son Kye.

“Blonde Snow White” and “White Tiana.”

The wind was insane. It was blowing Shepherd’s candy bag and he thought it was HILARIOUS.

Dude. Look at that profile.

Lillian kept saying, “Wook Momma! It’s a Sasquatch! On a bicycle!!”

“Lilli, smile like a princess!” This is what I got every time.

I think they had fun. Poor Shepherd was really freaked out by some of the masks, and he would literally scream at their faces. It was a strange balance…wanting to protect him from everything and wanting to laugh at how funny it was.

These photos were taken a second apart.

And then he gagged on a candy wrapper.
Happy Halloween!

As always …. amazing photography!!! Loved every minute. Thanks so much for sharing!!
